Hi,
I have some doubts regarding the steps involved in getting the texts translated and using them in the SAP UI5 applications.
I have gone through following links:
http://veui5infra.dhcp.wdf.sap.corp:8080/demokit/#docs/guide/UI5BSPRepositoryTaskTranslation.html
As far my understanding, we have to place the texts to be translated in the .properties file and then use the resource bundle to access them in SAPUI5 application. Using some reports will enable us to insert entries into appropriate tables, which is then used by translation team to translate and move it back accordingly into same tables with translated text along with language code. Later there will be an handler which does the job of providing the appropriate .properties file (If the file exists it will return the file, else it will dynamically generate one and return).
So,
1. Is this the general process involved for getting the texts translated? or is there any alternative/better approach
2. According to the first link, the reports and classes suggested are local to YI3 system (i mean to say they are Z objects). So do we have to make similar copy of these in our XDP/500 system? or is there any other way to get them?
3. Assuming even if we do make a manual copy, how reliable can it be? (suppose some issues arise with respect to these classes and reports, whom do we contact?)
We are working on a SAPUI5 project - version 1.12, with backend system as XDP 500/550.
Thanks in advance,
Vinay C
