SAP River RDE -- SAPUI5 Application Design

Dear All Gurus,

I am a novel to this subject and need some clarification in this regard..

We have installed SAP Net weaver Gateway server for Fiori and with a public IP . Users need  to create some fully customized apps for day to day business transactions and we are used to work with Eclipse IDE for SAPUI5 application developments.

After reading this article we assume that we also can do coding/design in SAP RIVER RDE which facilitate us more flexibility.

So my concerns are;

• How can we integrate our existing SAP NW Gateway Server with SAP River RDE ? (We have neither HANA nor Cloud facilities yet)

• Can we integrate this with thirdparty oData services?  Than how?
