Release Notes for SAP Web IDE

Core functionality of the code editor has been enhanced with new customization capabilities:

• Validate and resolve issues with code by performing static code checks and correcting issues inline.
• Improve code readability by applying formatting changes.

Project creation and maintenance has been enhanced:

• User settings and project settings have been centralized and extended.
• Search and replace has been improved. You can now perform serial and global search and replace actions across files in a project as well as in single files.

The following Git features can now be accessed from the SAP Web IDE Git pane.

• Setting Git credentials
• Comparing files before committing changes
• Rebase Interactive pane
• Git History
• Cherry-picking commits
• Tagging commits
• Reverting commits

The extensibility functionality has been enhanced with new capabilities:

• Extend controller functionality – you can now copy a parent controller (the code is formatted and commented).
• Extensibility Pane enhancements:
  • Added the option to open the extensibility pane using mock data.
  • Added the option to remove extensions.
  • When the extensibility mode is enables, the application is locked for navigation and you can right-click on elements to select extensibilty options.
  • Outline tree enhancements. You can now see which element was extended and by which other element.

• You can use a template to create a plugin project.
• You can use a template to create new templates.
• You can use the auto complete option in template files (*.tmpl).
• You can debug and test plugin projects within SAP Web IDE.

The fact sheet editor plugin has been enhanced and allows to edit the fact sheets as follows:

• Add new fields provided by OData services or remove the existing fields from the facets.
• Add and reorder other facets.
• Hide, unhide, or remove other facets.
• Edit detail pages for other facets.
