Format chart axis for different locales

We are using a viz chart to display times in milliseconds. To indicate that the time is measured in milliseconds, we want to add "ms" to the number on the axis. To do so, we use a format string.

We now have issues with the different locales. If the browser locale is English or German, the number looks good (e.g. 2.5 ms for english locale and 2,5 ms for german locale). But for the French locale it looks like this: 2,5. ms or 2,. ms.

If we use the default formatting of the axis (without the "ms") it looks fine in every locale.

Is there a way to add the "ms" without having this trouble with the different locales?

Currently we use this formatting string: "[=0]0 ms;[<1]#0,#.# ms;#,#.# ms"
