I need an advice for a new requirement that I have.
Well, my company need an "interface" (as a web portal) for interact with SAP.
When they asked my advice, the first thing I thought was in SAP Portal, but they had already contacted SAP to negotiate "portal" solution but did not reach to good agreement with the negotiations. According to what they have informed me, that's an issue about SAP's licenses.
I've been researching this issue a long time, and according to certain requirements of the site they want to develop in the company, is required to be in html5 (so that in the future it is compatible with various mobile devices). So here would come SAPUI5.
At first they have requested a web portal "developed" 100% by third parties (non-SAP) to communicate via SAP XI / PI to the server.
I thought in Fiori too (I read that SAP AG offered "free" to certain customers), but what they need is to generate documents through the web-portal.
That is, for example, a user will enter the web-site and will interact with SAP information (read-only SAP info) but then the user will load new data to SAP database. For example, he creates a draft document (later another user can validates from the SAP GUI -out web portal).
