sap.m.table sorting using date field

Hi,

By default Sort is working for names but for date field,it is not working. Please clarify me whether by default Sort feature possible for date fields in sap.m.table with out of box solution or do we need to implement custom sort feature?

Used below syntax

<Table id="vendorTable" height="100%" width="100%"

                    selectionChange="onSelectionChange" updateFinished="onUpdateFinished"

                    inset="false" mode="SingleSelectMaster"

                    items="{

      path: '//entitySet',

      sorter: {

        path: 'ZDate',

        descending: true

      }

    }">

.........etc

Is there any possibility to provide Sort/Filter functionality using visible columns by default for sap.m.table?
